The students of St. Joseph’s Academy together with the St. Scholastica Homeschool Co-op presented a beautiful evening of music on January 11, 2019.

The evening began with the Junior High and High School students processing into the darkened hall with candles to strains of “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence.” As the audience’s attention was drawn to that First Christmas, the Kindergarten through 2ndgraders presented a dramatic and musical rendition of “The Friendly Beasts” in full costume around a lovely stable set made for the occasion by one of the parents.

Following a few more songs from the youngest students including “Puer Natus in Bethlehem”, the third and fourth graders did a presentation of the O Antiphons in front of the academy’s Jesse Tree. Fifth and sixth grade performed a beautiful version of “Do You Hear What I Hear.” To conclude the evening, all the academy students joined together, to the great delight of family and friends, for “the Christmas Canon” which combined Pachelbel’s Canon in D with several beloved Christmas carols. It was a beautiful evening to conclude a beautiful season in the liturgical year!
